"Empowering college-bound women with confidence, safety, and strength."
Surviving the Red Zone is a specialized self-defense and safety education company dedicated to empowering college-bound women and current female students with the skills, strategies, and confidence they need to protect themselves from sexual assault.
Our name references “The Red Zone”—the period between the start of the fall semester and Thanksgiving break, when over 50% of sexual assaults on U.S. college campuses are reported to occur. We exist to change that statistic.
Through dynamic, trauma-informed seminars, we equip young women with situational awareness, real-world self-defense techniques, predator recognition training, and the confidence to assert boundaries in unfamiliar or high-risk environments. Our mission is clear: to help young women step onto campus not just excited—but empowered, educated, and prepared.
An experienced professional committed to equipping college women with real-world training in personal safety, situational awareness, and self-defense. Drawing on a strong background in law enforcement, martial arts, and security, Abe empowers young women with the confidence and skills they need to recognize threats, set boundaries, and protect themselves both on and off campus.
"Abe Fuentes provided safety and awareness training for all five of our fire agencies, focusing on first responder safety. His background as a former law enforcement officer gave him the credibility and insight to connect with our personnel and share real-world examples. Following the classroom portion, Abe led practical, hands-on scenarios tailored to situations firefighters may encounter. His expertise in mixed martial arts allowed him to adapt self-defense techniques specifically for our needs. The training was informative, engaging, and well-received by our teams. I highly recommend Abe—he tailors his instruction to his audience and brings both the experience and skills to deliver exceptional classroom and practical training."
